As I said, make your own judgement. Taken in a vacuum I probably wouldn't put much stock in the info either. However, I find it credible due to the past record of the blogger. The independent info from the reporter just confirms his account.

Without violating any confidences, they are outsiders. Their sources are outside the administration. Again, take it with a grain of salt but I am personally familiar with one of them and he has a track record of honesty and accuracy. The other, I don't know but is an established news reporter outside of the Lafayette area.

My source, who you know well, has two independent sources relating the same story. While not as 100% certain as being in the room it does meet the reasonable standard of confirmation you normally hear journalist use. And both state the call was not an offer but a feeler to gauge our interest. I just think we should have taken the call and listened to their spiel. However, after giving them that courtesy, short of a definitive offer I think at that point you make your decision based on how insistent the NO Bowl was being. I definitely would not have risked losing the sure thing for a maybe.

I've now figured out who these people are by inference. That "source" seems to always know what he's talking about... but he has some skin in the game. I know he's got a great past track record, but humans are humans. I still don't like it being brought up on here, like it was a huge blunder. If that conversation left the I Bowl mad, I'd be massively surprised.

As far as the Bowl that we will be in ----The Hay is in the Born---I think that 95% of the Cajun base is VERY happy to try for the "Three peat" in the Crescent City----Time to stop all the crap about who didn't do enough or whatever and time to make sure that you have your room and all the extra tickets that you need----My only problem is that I ordered 20 tickets to the INDY BOWL since I knew Scott would choose a terrible time, location, and stadium for the Cajuns!!!!!
