Thread: Focus shifts to Haack after injury to Broadway

  1. UL Football Focus shifts to Haack after injury to Broadway

UL starting quarterback Terrance Broadway exited Saturday night’s 31-28 loss to UL Monroe early due to an injury to his right arm.

UL did not say what the injury’s extent was or what Broadway’s status for Saturday’s game at South Alabama is, but it appeared it could be bad enough to force backup Brooks Haack into action against the Jaguars.

What is meant by this line?

"Internal and external public-address announcers at Cajun Field, however, were ordered to not call the Cajuns “Louisiana.” “UL” and “ULM” was not used in the press box either – only “Cajuns” and “Warhawks.”

Internal to me means the PA announcer at the game that we all hear. What is external? Is this radio? I know that I'm not fully awake right now, so I'm missing something.

It was NOT radio! Jay made a point of saying that while the PA couldn't say "Louisiana," HE could and was going to do so, which makes me wonder exactly WHAT the rationale was last night.....

Why shorten the official nickname to Cajuns and not do the same with Hawks?

"internal" probably referring to communication within the pressbox area only that is separate from the "external" communication to the attending crowd.

We were all told that Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns is a legal acronym for our Athletic teams. Were we lied to? I do not think so. So who or what is the problem? We got a little jealous heat and folded like a cheap suit. I am sick over this. 30 years dealing with this crap and still being told "it takes time"....enough...Like J1M said on another thread fight ______! Fight your asses off over this!!!!!! We have your back! I would rather end up shackled in a Legislative concentration camp after fighting my ___ off then to bend over and accept this crap.

I call it the pussification of our administration.

I don't understand this administration. You claim you want to be something, but then cower when faced with an opportunity to stand tall and represent yourself in the face of your opposer. The university just sent a clear message: we want to be "Louisiana", but only sometimes. The loss was bad, but what hurts more is the fact that the university and this administration just showed their true color: yellow.

The admin needs to get their ____ together, or they will lose an rcaf supporter.

I'm not usually one to call into question our university's decisions, but in this instance I believe they owe the fans, alumni, backers an explanation as to why you make a HUGE, public fuss about the name then pull the stunt you did last night. If we were facing some sort of sunbelt backlash, okay, then let us know. Was it a strategic move in some attempt to push it forward at a later time? Sounds silly, but let us know. You just made fools out of everyone that preached "We are Louisiana" for years now.

Ironically yellow first made it's appearance alongside the Pepper.
