What a silly statement! I went to the new Orleans bowl when Southern Miss played Troy. Let me tell you, not everybody travels to New Orleans. Not like the Cajuns.

That was a dumb comment, among others. He splattered the liquid bowl projections on the wall and acted like he knows what's solid. There's ambiguity regarding opponents at every possible bowl we have a chance.

I'm trying to figure out why this guy has issues with Cajun fans. Fans are arguing the merits of better opponents versus better venues... and the personal and program benefit of each. And there are many more things on the table than our creature comforts and the football players "deserving" a better opponent.

Our fans and football players are unified. This guy doesn't appear to be one of either. So he needs to Please.

Who ever the idiot that wrote that never sat in the stadium through countless beat downs or when we had spectacular players and didn't get to go to a bowl. As to the "fact" that everyone travels well to New Orleans, please tell me how well Florida traveled to last year's Sugar Bowl or how well North Texas traveled in their trips to New Orleans.

The Indy is the biggest RAG there is and nothing but a couple of folks using it for their own personal agenda.
    +1.

Good. I have hotel and airline reservations for NO. Who do you think CUSA will send?

There's a reason it went from a weekly to a monthly.

The Lafayette so-called Independent is little more than cheapest of toilet paper. The Mays are nothing but wanna-be socialites/elitist types, from New Orleans, and it's editor, Wally Pierce...well...pretty much a younger Bill Decker.

Not surprised they would publish and promote crap like this.

If a ACC team does not want to play a SBC team then we need to provide them with one that will knock the snot out of a ACC team.

As long as we have a small school mentality we will always remain a small school we need to reach for the stars and tell teams that we will play you any where any time.

We will never get respect if we never play or beat a team from an AQ conference

I don't like the article or the Independent either but no reason to slam an entire family name on a public forum. Show some class man.

I am good friends with a lot of this family and they do not all share the views of this writer.

I have expressed to my buddy how rediculous it is that his uncle's paper doesn't support the local University. He agrees that its BS.
