LAFAYETTE — Louisiana baseball coach Tony Robichaux said that his squad will start from scratch this week, in an effort to break out of an early-season skid.

The good thing is that the Ragin’ Cajuns will have a lot of home chances to reverse a five-game losing streak, with those chances beginning tonight when the Cajuns host Northwestern State at 6:30 p.m. at Moore Field.

Louisiana (2-5) is coming off an abysmal weekend at the Minute Maid Park College Classic in Houston, dropping three games and losing by an aggregate 32-8 score to Alabama, Texas A&M and Baylor.

“We’ve got to get back to the basics, pitching and defense,” Robichaux said after the Sunday 12-4 loss to Baylor. “We’re going to take a look at everything we’re doing, and just go back to work on all of it.”
