Thread: Good exposure

    Default Good exposure

Just now on the way home I was listening to the Second Guess show on WWL with Bobby Hebert and Mike Tetillier. A caller asked what they thought about a UL Tulane matchup in the NOBowl. Tetillier could not say enough about UL , how strong they are on O, Broadway, the running game and the receivers. He said that if this game is set, it will be the strongest team that Tulane has faced this year and UL would bring 30k (might have to school him on that based on last 2 years). He even called the defense solid and Tulane would have a tall task to put up enough points. Hebert called it a great match up. Best of all, Tetillier continuously referred to us as UL; Hebert, the Ragin Cajuns. Go Cajuns.

If we can get the Tulane Matchup in the NOLA bowl. I say we go for it. If not, I say we take the INDY BOWL against an ACC team for sure if the I Bowl opens up after MISS St loses to Ole Miss Thurs night. (yikes though because Miss St may come calling for our coach)

How many would Tulane bring? Would the total exceed 60K?

Why is Tulane a matchup anyone would want to see. We saw it last year, and it was a blood bath. Gimme Indy any day and twice on Tuesday. Weather and stadium suck, but opponent is great and for the love of god it's a New Years Eve game which is awesome for our program. That is the prime time of when you want to play in bowl season.

Best case scenario: Beat Hoax to grab conference title (share) & bowl invite. Beat USA for single crown SB title. Beat Greenies for 3rd bowl win in front of new record crowd. Best Cajun Christmas present. Then separate from LaTex in front of new record setting crowd to start '14 season.

TUFFGUY, I see the I BOWL also as a very good option. I am kinda split 50/50. NYs eve game against ACC. I am off the next day, so no prob.

No, but if you think they are a good team, realize they lost to USA, UTSA, and FAU. If you think they are anything more than a team we would pound by 1000 in a bowl game, you are absolutely fooling yourself. They are a bad team who got hot and happened to play worse teams in the worst conference in football.

Give me Boston College please so that we can start getting some respect and not have to play what will be the worst bowl team this season if FAU doesn't win this weekend.

Only if we brought 58,750 Louisiana fans.

One reason would be to pound them even more unmercifully since they seem to believe that the win last year was a fluke.

    2 thoughts here...

    1. While we have been very good to the NOLA bowl, I think it is true also that they have been good to us... year one they did not have to take us... they took a flier on a likely, but not guaranteed, good thing in terms of fan following. remember they had no history on which to judge what we might bring...

    2. What is wrong with going to NOLA and putting a butt-hurt on Tulane in front of perhaps a handful of recruits that may be choosing between the two of us??

    ok how about a third..

I'd MUCH rather spend three nights in NOLA than one night in Shreveport. Yea I know the exposure etc is better, but I'm talking about me as a fan... I think the oft quoted $500k is more like $750k with the number of tickets we sell and the $1.5 is not so much if we show up with 20k fans... maybe I am wrong.... How about a three-peat in NOLA and lets run up 11 wins next year and go somewhere new then?

Correct me if I'm wrong. bit doesn't the NO Bowl have to pick the Sunbelt Champion twice in 4 years.
