1. While we have been very good to the NOLA bowl, I think it is true also that they have been good to us... year one they did not have to take us... they took a flier on a likely, but not guaranteed, good thing in terms of fan following. remember they had no history on which to judge what we might bring...
2. What is wrong with going to NOLA and putting a butt-hurt on Tulane in front of perhaps a handful of recruits that may be choosing between the two of us??
ok how about a third..
I'd MUCH rather spend three nights in NOLA than one night in Shreveport. Yea I know the exposure etc is better, but I'm talking about me as a fan... I think the oft quoted $500k is more like $750k with the number of tickets we sell and the $1.5 is not so much if we show up with 20k fans... maybe I am wrong.... How about a three-peat in NOLA and lets run up 11 wins next year and go somewhere new then?
Correct me if I'm wrong. bit doesn't the NO Bowl have to pick the Sunbelt Champion twice in 4 years.
Thanks for the update.
They changed the rules.
The Sun Belt Champion must still be guaranteed a bowl game but it doesn't have to be in the New Orleans Bowl.
The New Orleans Bowl is not obligated unless there are no other options for the champ.
With new bowl tie-ins for the SBC Conference the odds of that happening are reduced.
In theory the SBC Champ must be placed in a bowl first, but with so much of this happening behind the scenes 'simultaneously' news could break about the champs bowl after other bowl matchups are announced.
Pretty sure your best case would also include a LOUISIANA victory on 12/04/2013 setting setting up the preclude to the 2014 game. Even better Coach Broadhead pulls an upset on 12/07/2013 against the Lady Techsters. That my friend is the way to poot in their separation fruit punch.
