The RCAF, ticket sales, licensed products have soared in the last three years due to chumps like me who believed in and was excited about the direction the school was going. I learned last night that we are and always will be a small time regional college. Thanks "t-Joe". I hope some one on here that has direct communication with him, lets him know how much money he lost the University last night. It's got me really thinking twice about continuing to spend several grand a year. Somebody start giving me reasons to believe and continue supporting t-Joel's university.
Yeah, sure made me, and many others, look foolish for thanking local businesses (and patronizing them) for dropping the second L. BTW, I didn't notice...was the equipment trailer hidden away last night?
I agree with you 100% My wife was the greatest fan cajun basketball ever had, Andrew Tony was my neighbor, She said then if they keep Marty Fletcher one more year I will never come back to a cajun game, Marty stayed for 11 years, she has never stepped foot in the cajun dome since. I was at a spring football game and they announced that Robert Lee was given a contract for a second year, I cancelled my season tickets the next day, had those seats when cajun dome opened, have never been back, I wish them well but will never go back. I am so sorry I ordered my tickets for New Orleans, last night I finally realized, this administratuon is no different than then. My son John Michael talked me into renewing my season tickets and with Hud I found new life, I'm glad I did, however, I feel we have no hope. Dr A is still in charge, I'm fed-up with hope and T-Joe, same song different versus. I am so sick!!!!!!!
The equipment trailer was parked on Congress side of Cajun Field.
Darn, do I know you? I missed one basketball game from the time the Cajuns came off probation until I had enough of the SWAC showing up in the dome I thought we had changed conferences. Health put me on the shelf for a few years, so I'm finally back going to football games.
My Marty moment, year after I gave up the tickets, had a friend talk me into going to a game. I think it was Jacksonville. Cajuns have ball, up by 5, and Marty calls a time out, a little more than a minute to go. I go into a complete rage saying the game is over, the Cajuns will lose. Of course, my friend is looking at me like I am nuts. Cajuns lose in overtime. My friend is looking at me stunned and asking me how did I know. I said, "I've followed this program for decades. Simple, Marty decided to coach." The few old timers around me were high fiving me laughing because they knew I was right.
I've been to a couple of games since, and on those nights I did not see cohesiveness needed to compete at the level Cajun basketball was once known for. Just look no further than a year or so ago, our conference champ was regulated to a freaking play in game. But then again, basketball changed when everyone wanted to "be like Mike."
Name game has me disgusted. We don't have the stroke in BR to pull it off, it has to be a grass roots effort. So, lead, follow, or get out the way. Anything I have with Lafayette on it is being trashed. I won't risk it going back into the public off the good will rack. UL only at my house.
Well I like that the fans picked up on your suggestion with a twist.
I worry that Mr. Farmer implied there was noble intent in banning Mr. Hans Nelson from saying Louisiana, when he said “The intent was to give them ownership of the slogan and to increase their engagement.”
It will probably take a year or two before I will yell this at the game. We lost the game before we stepped on the field Saturday.
I was never a fan of Farmers, but I was never a hater. I will no longer hold my displeasure. No one and I do mean no one on that staff knows the first thing about fundraising, they continue to break some of the first rules of fundraising.
