Since when is your name not important?
I quit worrying about the name issue several years ago. I got sick of it way back then. I couldn't take any more of the same tired arguments that keep recirculating over and over again. There are some who will never refer to us as Louisiana and there is nothing anyone can do to make them.
Maybe it means something to your ego or pride. Kind of like when someone hits you with a cheap shot on the football field. It might ____ you off but it won't change the score on the scoreboard. And in football the goal isn't to put one over on the other team. The goal is to put points on the scoreboard. That's the big picture. We need to quit whining about the cheap shot and focus on the game.
I think we're at the point where we either ____ or get off the pot. The name threads are endless.
Turbine, could you henceforth end all threads regarding our name with the following:
"We are Louisiana. Don't like it? Call a ____ing cop."
Our dispute really isn't with Bob. Bob is obviously never going to agree with us. That's not going to change so why waste time and energy trying to convince him. Our dispute is actually with those disinterested third parties. We want to convince them to see it our way. That's our goal and that's our battle. Petty spats with Bob won't help us accomplish our goal.
So basically we have two different philosophies here.
One is Churchillian : "We shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender."
The other Clintonian: "What difference,at this point, does it make?"
