I believe Dr. Savoie is very aware of the branding issue, and is likely working on it behind the scenes.
We have the most politically savy college administrator in the state rather than the traditional academic scholar with research credentials - that should be an advantage - in this instance.
Given that marketing has been somewhat of a disaster, Savoie is the sole hope of making/negotiating a deal.
Out of context it matters not.
In context https://forumeus.com/...-for-Louisiana it matters.
Look, I'm not hard up on the name issue as others on here. I'll just simply refuse to engage with someone who refers to us as ULaLa or Lafayette college.
However, I DO think it is important, if we are serious about the Louisiana Ragin Cajun branding for athletics, that our administration not misplace its testicles on the announcing of a "Louisiana First Down" and other areas where we would otherwise use the branding of "Louisiana" on Game Day.
Frankly, we fail at Marketing. We need to send a consistent branding message, regardless of who we upset.
The problem here you will only a handful saying Louisiana because the rest of the fans have no idea about name problems.......It will take the cheer leaders with cards to inform the fans. That's the way it's been done for years. The male cheer leaders with the mega-phones across the sidelines. How do other schools have the crowds cheers? It didn't happen with one game. It took time. These cheer leaders need to be informed about this. Or maybe the SBC have guide lines on what they can and can not say........
