Can anyone give us a recap of what was discussed at the Recruiting Bash? I was unable to make it due to unforseen circumstances.

well i got there late but i didn't hear any of these "major announcements." maybe they were made before i got there. this was the first bash i've attended and frankly i left unimpressed. i've been to libraries with more excitement. maybe i was expecting more than what is the norm but i thought these things were done to pump people up about the program! LAME! i was really disappointed. well, the food was great! baja beach grill catered.
Announcement of CAF but did not go into specifics as to who would chair it or any more info besides it was going to get started in the spring and more info was going to be provided then.
Schedule was announced with the game at Southern Miss being the opening game. I thought it was supposed to be K-State.
Recruits were announced and everything went pretty much as planned except the big one in Ryan Glazer was not announced as his status is uncertain. He was enrolled at school but had some sort of family emergency back home so it looks like he will not be in school for the remainder of the semester and should be back in summer. We also got a TE recruit that committed late and looks awesome. About 6'5" 225ish and real athletic and fast. Other than that, everything was as expected.
The facility was awesome and I think several of these guys are going to help us quickly.
I have not been to many recruiting events like this so take my comments for what they're worth. I guess my question is how many people were we supposed to have there? I thought we had a good crowd there and I think people are extremely excited. It may have not had that NFL draft day raucous crowd atmoshphere but I think that there was a nice crowd. I'm sure some of the big programs throw quite a party but it's hard to get pumped up over guys who aren't even in attendance. JMO
So no news on the baseball stadium, field, lights, etc. What was the big announcement? Does cajun field need turf to go bowling? does the tigue need upgrades to host a regional?
Maybe baseball is it's own program seperate from the rest of the university, it seems that way in alot of ways. Maybe baseball will make it's own announcement at fan day or something like that?
I hope that being a year behind ULM's upgraded field is not our proud announcement. Now I get to go to work and tell the LSUAMBR fans " yeah we got turf ". I'm calling in sick.
What about the multi million dollar donor to the baseball program and plans for renovations of The Tigue and the new contract with addidas??????????
When is that awesome COX sign going to be errected at corner of Bertrand and Congress???????????
The word is that there will be an entirely new stadium built for baseball although this was not officially announced I don't believe! Football is getting a turf field and the CAF is being finalized.
They will also be forming "teams" mixed with coaches, administration and volunteers to begin donation drives along with ticket sales drives in the early summer.
man, UL NEEDS TO SHELL OUT SOME MONEY AND HIRE A GOOD MARKETING EXEC.......OR JUST TAKE SOME COMMON SENSE ADVICE FROM FANS ON THIS SITE FOR FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!
