FAYETTVILLE, Ark.-Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns men’s tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to Arkansas at the Dills Indoor Tennis Center on Sunday. The loss drops the Cajuns to 1-2 on the year.
The Razorbacks earned the first team point by winning two of the three doubles matches. The team of Chris Nott and Dmitry Lebedev defeated UL’s Alexander Rupertsson and Arlen Domoney 8-3 at No. 1.
The Cajuns answered back with Jorge Delgado and Piotr Olechowski defeating Bradwin Williams and Tyler Tarnasky 8-7(4) at No. 3 doubles, but it wasn’t enough after the Razorbacks won at the No. 2 position.
In singles play, the Cajuns dropped all six matches to the Razorbacks. Olechowski fell to No. 76 Blake Strode 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1, and Domoney was defeated by Nott 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2. Arkansas’ Lebedev topped Janusz Conradi 6-2, 7-5 at No. 3, while UL’s Delgado fell to Matt Hogan 6-2, 6-3 at No. 4. Ryan Hess was bested by Tarnasky 6-4, 6-4 at No. 5, and Rupertsson was defeated by Williams 6-4, 6-3 at No. 6.
The Cajuns will travel to Baton Rouge to face the Louisiana State Tigers on Tuesday, Feb. 5. The match begins at 1:00 p.m.
