Not suggesting that we would make boatloads of money in CUSA. But we would be as well off and possibly better off in CUSA. Add in the other advantages of CUSA, i.e. schools associated with, perception, regional ties, travel costs, TV revenue, etc. and it's the conference to be in rather than the Belt, IMO.
What about when they go somewhere else? How long before they are crying for a "better" bowl like some are here? It doesn't matter if they lose money, you still have to share. If we made 340k the first year, 4 teams go bowling and they all break even(highly unlikely) that 340 is divided by 4...becomes only 85k. That's if everyone would break even. I'm all for joining cusa and see many benefits...making more money on bowls is not one of them. Also, one of those expenses in cusa is a week trip for 125-150 people to hawaii
Let me know if I have this wrong:
If we go to N.O. we sell the most tickets. We will have to split the take with other SB teams playing in post season. Most likely only one other SB team will be playing ( go daddy)
If we play in Go Daddy we will sell less tickets and still likely split with only one other SB team.
If we play in Shreveport we will probably sell more that Mobile, but less than N.O., and will likely have to share with 2 other SB teams rather than one. Also AQ opponent.
Looks like money/local exposure .vs possible higher profile game. Until we know opponent, NO wins even with only 60 mile drive to Mobile for me.

LIEs Damn LIEs and statistics---I looked at the results in the paper and our income less the Donations(whatever that was) was about $100K more and we profited about $600K less---don't have it in front at the moment---But I hope we spent/will spend like drunken sailors to get those expenses up!!!!
