When it comes to preseason rankings, UL baseball coach Tony Robichaux and UL softball co-coaches Michael and Stefni Lotief share the same philosophy.
"I don't need a poll to know we need to get a whole lot better," Michael Lotief said. "We're not good enough now."
Coming off a 46-18 season in which it made its ninth straight NCAA Regional appearance, UL's softball program enters this season with plenty of attention. The Cajuns have been picked first in the Sun Belt Conference preseason poll last week and are ranked No. 20 in the preseason by ESPN.com/USA Softball and No. 24 by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association/USA Today.
