I was thinking the same myself. I couldn't find a site that matched us up.

All other things being even I would like to play Boston College in Shreveport or Northern Illinois in Mobile. Send Arkansas State to New Orleans to beat up on Tulane.

I wonder how many of the New Orleans attendees from the past that pulled for the Cajuns will put on green this year?

NIU is not going to the Go Daddy, according to the Little Ceasar's web site they get the MAC Champion this year. Indy Bowl is trying to find an opponent to match with the ACC outside of the MAC and the SBC.

Good...I would rather head to New Orleans. The alternatives suck...if the Liberty Bowl came calling it would be different. If the Texas Bowl came calling it would be different. We just have to play the hand we are dealt. It's been three years since we got invited to our first bowl in a long time. In just three years we can talk about being too good for the bowl we pined for. That's progress. Next year...who knows where we will end up. Let's just enjoy what we have.

It's all about the bowl payout. Forget where the game is...it is a business at the end of the day.

A few years ago UConn lost almost $2 million dollars at the Fiesta Bowl because the had certain locked in expenses but couldn't sell their allotment of tickets.

On paper the Fiesta Bowl has a HUGE payout, but in the end it is a paper promise.

Only fans can make a bowl profitable.

I get the feeling like the hotels we rent and beer we drink out weighs what Tulane doesn't do.

I sent an email to them trying to let them know there's no chance Texas Tech is there. I guess no one saw it until after the show. ACC has the tie in and more teams eligible than they have tie ins

My ideal bowl scenario is Poo-lane in the NOLA Bowl. I don't care that chances are very good that we will pound them. What I do care about is: a.)creating more separation between us and Tulane, b.)more firmly establishing ourselves in NOLA, especially with recruiting, & c.) making money. Another thing I like about this scenario is that, assuming we win our last two regular season games before winning this one, we will be ranked, AND, there's less of a chance that Hudspeth is stolen away. IMO there's a much greater risk he's stolen away if we get a big name ACC opponent in Shreveport or beat a ranked NIU in Mobile. Also, by him not getting stolen away, it gives him even more time to continue building up the program @ UL.

Do I understand the following two rules to mean that the SBC decides where we go, not UL?

3.3.2.2 SBC teams cannot enter into an agreement with any bowl without the approval of the
SBC Presidents/Chancellors. Failure to adhere to this policy may result in a financial
penalty determined by the SBC Presidents/Chancellors.

3.3.2.3 SBC teams cannot negotiate with any bowl. This includes the prohibition of any team
from offering any financial incentive to a bowl for preferential treatment. All negotiations
between SBC teams and bowls must be managed by the Commissioner. Failure to
adhere to this policy may result in a financial penalty determined by the SBC
    Presidents/Chancellors.

No, it just means we (or anyone else) cannot go outside of the commissioner and negotiate. As long as the SBC commissioner is included, deals can be made. This just prevents programs from excluding the commissioner. That way, the commissioner is held ultimately responsible to all member presidents.

Each team evaluates and negotiates with bowls offering invites... but to stay within the rules... the commissioner is included. He wants to make sure he gets in a suite and gets fine wine and dining.
