Well, that's actually part of ESPN's plan. They hired him to be a big part of the SEC Network for which he will be a big part of it once its unveiled. I think his show that is syndicated from Charlotte will truly be covering nothing but SEC sports in the future. What's interesting about him is that he started out as in investigative reporter and has always been based in Alabama. I used to read his column a lot when I'd go visit the old in-laws in Mobile and they would have a "Sound Off" daily in the paper where they just had a page dedicated to daily rants. You can imagine who spent most of their time there since you are in the middle of Auburn/Alabama country there. It was actually pretty humorous and entertaining but its safe to say, it doesn't make their fan bases look very good. If I'm not mistaken, he was the reporter who broke the whole Antonio Langham deal about signing with an agent back in the mid 90s

What Town Square is doing here (through the program director Scott Prather) is hedge their bets.

They are hedging their bets in case they ever lose the UL contract.

Every time a new sports station pops up the 14.20 owners slide in the direction of being all things to all people.

    Kind of like Advertiser.

One of the guest yesterday literally said "The just drug tested her drawers yesterday" lol. He also said Nick Saban had something to do with all the Winston news getting out to the media. Some people just amaze me.

This is what happens when a bunch of lawyers decide to invest their fortunes in radio without knowing anything about the radio business. It's all about the almighty dollar. Just listen to all the BS sponsorships during a live sports' broadcast. They could care less about the listener.

From the Townsquare Media website...a bio of the CEO, Steven Price.

Mr. Price was a Senior Managing Director at New York-based private equity firm Centerbridge Partners and, before that, he held a similar position at Spectrum Equity Investors. Before joining the private equity business, Mr. Price served in the Pentagon as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense (Spectrum, Space, and Communications). Prior to joining the Pentagon, he served as President and CEO of LiveWire Ventures, a software and services company he founded with Mr. Rosenstein. Mr. Price was also formerly the President and CEO of PriCellular Corporation, a publicly traded cellular phone operator focused on small to mid-sized markets, which was sold in 1998 for $1.4 billion. Earlier in his career, Mr. Price worked as an attorney at Davis, Polk & Wardwell and as an investment banker at Goldman Sachs.

Mr. Price graduated Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude from Brown University and earned a J.D. from the Columbia University School of Law.

His guests are great, and one or two callers are entertaining but for the most part his Bama callers make me think of LSU fans in a positive light. Then, I think about actually liking an LSU fan and realize how awesome it is once a year when Bama keeps them from crossing the 50.

Their plan is to flip the stations at some point.

Its part of why they are positioning themselves as a full blown media marketing company. For example they are selling themselves as website developers.

Sooner or later (I don't know Price's patience level) they will be flipped.

I just hope the new owners focus on Acadiana.

Big Dave and Bandit sets people in our area back at least 100 years...every Sunday. Bitter to these guys sounds like a Rhodes scholar.

I once heard big Dave and mike the bandit get in a debate because one of them didn't know what a skillet was. They were giving it away as a part of some contest.

MB: "Cher how you not know what a skillet is?"
BD: "well mike I just donn know?"
MB: "dave, what you cook ya eggs in?
    BD: "Well a pot Cher!"

Of course, there's always "touchdowwwwwacadianawreckaroms" and the day Bittah got thrown out of the press box.

+1. Instead of focusing on being a radio station they are trying to do it all, and all of their "products" suffer. Do you really want a radio station to design your website? It's kind of like TV 10 Eyewitness News now calling themselves Acadiana's Multi-Media News. What a joke. Someone in upper management decided if you say it enough, viewers will believe it. Kind of like Obamacare now being referred to by most liberals as the Affordable Care Act.
