I heard you say yesterday that Ambrose was expected to give UL an answer within 24 hrs (from yesterday afternoon). Any word? And how come ULM seems to land so many commitments that we have offered? Thanks and I enjoyed hearing you on BEV yesterday.
Like who?
Both schools are usually after the same kids inside the state...
sometimes it comes down to geography, playing time, fitting in schemes etc...
I think both schools are having a good year in recruiting because LSU's recent success has them recruiting nationwide...
My perception of commits this year was that ULM was going heavy JUCO, and The Cajuns are looking for high school speedsters.
The main one I meant is Johnelle Derouselle, but I also saw Wayne Jacobs, and I heard (may be rumor) that Luther Ambrose was going to commit to ULM also. I guess my question is, does winning against Alabama and having a slightly better 07 record than us give them that much more of an edge or is there something else? Thanks a ton
p.s. I didnt meant for it to sound like they were getting everyone
Johnelle Derouselle was offered early in the football season along with Houston,USM and several others. When news of his grades came back all Div1A programs pulled their offers and including the Cajuns. ULM is coming back on kids just like the Cajuns to fill their class. As of his commitment, he still is about 50/50 on becoming eligible. So right now, ULM is his only offer to play Div1A football. The Cajuns never offered Wayne Jacobs, again ULM is his only Div1A offer. With Luther, I'm hearing all kind of things, most don't make sense right now.
ULM has done well in the JC ranks because of the Alabama win. You might have noticed that most are from the Mississippi JC ranks. Now some of those signees have not graduated from JC as well, so that will be interesting. On the high school level, it certainly hasn't helped them in Louisiana.
