If the GoDaddy was on a Saturday prior to New Year's Day there would be little objection.
I mean ____ the ones that can take off and don't go because it's not in New Orleans. When did I say not being able to take off made you less a fan? I'm talking to the ones that will only go to New Orleans for the party and happen to go to a game while they are there. The national championship is on a Monday, not every bowl game is on a Saturday. All of this us even more why is should be about the players. Fans will always have an excuse, can't get off of work, it's cold outside, I have to go to a wedding, I have family in for Christmas. It will never be perfect for everyone.

There are a TON of people who feel that way.

In Mobile, gonna be nothing but die hards attending....
ANOTHER problem with Mobile. School starts for many kids the next day. I will be there, but my wife and 2 kids would probably stay home.

Everything keeps sending us back to the NOLA Bowl. I just hope we can get a worthy team. I would rather Tulane over another CUSA team. What better way to show our reach than to beat them in the stands and destroy them on the field.

Tulane on their way to a 7th win in front of a lively crowd of a few thousand at the Superdome.

There have been a lot of misconceptions about the Cajuns going to "a better bowl" with a "guaranteed payout" etc., etc., etc. I can understand this because there are a lot of people getting really excited, and rightly so, with a chance to finish 10-2. But most of these people haven't been "plugged in" on how these bowl games work. The ones of us who do, know that the New Orleans Bowl is our overall best bet. I have attached an article that Jay wrote recently explaining the bowl situation as it pertains to The University of Louisiana.

It was a good read if you really want to understand what is possibly available to us.

I look at it this way: (what makes winning programs?)

    1. Recruiting: What better way to WOW a 18 year old kid is to have 50K+ screaming fans as you run out of the tunnel!
(Better than 15K fans freezing there _____ off)

    2. Money: This pays for upgrades and makes your fans and recruits excited!
(You only make money if you sell tickets)

With our past bowl attendance, it is very attractive for:
    a. Louisiana (Us) to make money
    b. R&L Carrier Bowl to make money
    c. Another school to share the good money (win-win)
    d. New Orleans City to make money.
    e. To show on TV more people attending than most other bowls including some BCS bowls

If you think that N.Orleans City development/tourist people do not have a say so in these decisions, well you have not been in buisness meeting before. It takes alot of planning and groups to handle these issues. If you have ALOT of hotels already booked with (UL bowl deal, Hilton riverside $99/night, you have to call them and ask for it, got mine!) reservations, do you think these people are going to let multi-million dollar gains just be decided by someone without their input....I think not. We the fans speak in "I wish this or it would be great to have this".....they speak in dollars and cent...that's it. Bottomline....money talks everything else walks! Get the Money and the recruits then talk about the future!
