My point is...it is Mobile..not New Orleans, not inside, on a cold Sunday night. Be realistic.

A bowl is a reward for the team, not the fans. The fans are fuel for the bowls.

I am being realistic, 40k in Nola... 15-20k only an hour further against a top 20 opponent. That's very realistic.

I agre with you that we need to bring more than 12K. But I dont think the GoDaddy, given its date and time, should be used as a comparison with "better bowls".

Like most things in life, it's all about the Benjamins.

GoDaddy sucks, opponent might make it worth it, but the date, time, stadium, and weather makes this a very bad bowl.

Most schools are eating $1,000,000 just to go to a bowl. The NO Bowl is phenomenal for us. I'm not saying we shouldn't take a shot at a ranked team, somewhere... but we also need to quit talking about "having" to send more than 10k to 15k... or else we failed. We'll cover our allotment. If we do better... great... and I'm all for campaigning folks to attend... but 12k fans is respectable for Mobile on a Sunday night after the holidays.
    This!

When LSU went to its first bowl after a long drought, everyone was raving that they sold 17,500 to the Peach Bowl.

The only question for UL is, do you want to make it lose money?•

I don't think it's a "better bowl" but if we want a "better bowl" to reach out to us, if we do go to mobile we better make damn sure we bring more than 12k to a game that's within driving distance against a top 20 team. I personally would rather keep owning Nola bowl until we can make an obviously "bigger bowl"

We aren't lsu or Florida... Even though Florida only sold 7500 to sugar bowl, they are still Florida. Also, there were way more than 7500 Florida fans there. They just bought through stub hub and ticketmaster. I don't blame them, those bcs bowls probably give the school alottment crappy locations. The best seats go to corporate sponsors.

    No argument there.
