The New Orleans Bowl had a nielsen rating of 1.79 last year and 1.63 in 2011.

Better than these bowls in 2011-

    Gildan New Mexico
    Beef 'O' Brady's
    St. Petersburg
    Bell Helicopter
    Armed Forces
    BBVA Compass
    GoDaddy.com
    Independence Bowl

The trend has been going down for many bowls, but the matchups also have a lot to do with it.

Boomer, the so what is we are not making tons of money in the NO Bowl contrary to what has been stated on this board. If Cajun fans can't travel to Shreveport or Houston, and not sell almost as many tickets after the Sun Belt defers travel cost, while getting a larger payout and make more then $40,000then we aren't who we think we are at this time. You can bet your butt most of the bowls in this region will consider that Cajun fans won't support another bowl in the same manner. At that point, we had better hope for a BCS Buster season because no bowl outside of the NO Bowl will want the Ragin' Cajuns. Sooner or later, UL will have to prove it can travel outside of 2.5 hours from home.

    Thanks, T.

Hopefully we can have an all Southland conference schedule next year. We can bus to all those games. Sounds like a winner.
