On the ride from Waco, Texas, to Lafayette late Sunday night, UL basketball coach Bob Marlin was offered cause for hope that before season’s end more outside shots will fall for the Ragin’ Cajuns than in weekend losses at Arkansas and Baylor.

Senior shooting guard Bryant Mbamalu, though, didn’t even play against the Razorbacks or Bears.

“Driving back on the bus,” Marlin said, “I was reminded we’ve got a pretty good shooter over there – our most-experienced 3-point shooter; made the most for us the last year and last couple years – on the bench in street clothes.
