Rice would bring even more Cajun fans from Texas! Rice sounds like a good fit, to bring fans to again have the largest crowd in a non BCS bowl!

I wanted Rice last year. ECU was a good match-up but their fans had an airfare burden.
I say yes to New Orleans Bowls at least till we totally wipe UNT's consecutive appearances record off the map.
That's the record that concerns me. I am very happy to get the trifecta. I am even good with a quadroid ... but to wipe out the record calls for a pentagonal commitment!
Do you know how many "Is there a better bowl" comments will be made before that happens?
For the record, I would like to see a UL next to that record ... and THAT would be a hard record to break!
A sellout in the dome would be a nice line item as well.

interesting article in the Sun Herald on SEC teams jockeying for bowl position, but if you read partially down there is this quote
LSU (7-3) controls its bowl destiny. With wins over Texas A&M and Arkansas, the Tigers will earn their second Cotton Bowl berth in three years. Oklahoma State is the likely opponent for the Jan. 3 contest. A split in those games, and the Tigers could end up in either the Chick Fil-A or Gator Bowl.
Tulane will face Louisiana-Lafayette in the New Orleans Bowl on Dec. 21.
I really believe these sports writers prdicting Toolame in NOLA are just picking that out of laziness and not comprehending the issues generated by a Toolame UL matchup. Toolame would prefer Hawai before facing us and playing in their home stadium. That matchup in the Dome is nothing special for them other than finally getting to see and hear what the Dome looks like with an actual crowd of frenzied fans courtesy of UL.
fiund it interesting that it said that we will face and not might face. also not sure where the neww orleans bowl fit into the article about basically ole miss and the sec especially since the sun herald is a mississippi newspaper
