Did you hear Howie Long complaining that it wasn't roughing the passer? What exactly made Howie Long famous? I don't remember him being all that great. Maybe I'm confusing him with Brian Bosworth? That guy was all hype.

Of course Long didn't think it was roughing the passer look at the position he played and what team.

Roughing the Passer is a judgment call. Roughing the _____ is mandatory. Anytime Brees gets hit...it's Roughing the _____. My god...comparing a sack of a stationary quarterback to a Jack Tatum clothesline of a non-stationary receiver is asinine. I've seen so many quarterbacks get hit so much worse...no call. I guess the NFL makes the judgement call only when selling jerseys comes into play. Jack Tatum is turning in his grave tonight.

I've got to disagree with you there. Now if you layout any QB it's a flag. It gets really questionable when you have a running QB. If you looked at the replay, the 9er defenders arm hit Bress right below his neck then his arm slide up almost pulling off his helmet. I really don't understand the grounding rule that well. When the 9er QB threw that pass to sideline with to avoid a safety, it was not called. Bress throws one obviously away and it's called. I know it's something about being outside the pocket.

If he hit right below his neck...it's not a Personal Foul. In the annals of football that was easily one of the worst Personal Foul calls ever seen. Where else is the guy supposed to hit him? Can't hit him high...can't hit him low...can't drape his arm anywhere near his neck. For a fan base that spent an entire year lambasting the NFL over how sissified it has become...this is a weird time to start agreeing with it.

The Kaepernick call...he was close to the boundary of what the tackle box was. Since the tackle box is arbitrary...they normally give the boundary as outside the tackle box. Plus...it would have been reviewed to check when he started the throwing motion to see if he was all the way in the Endzone. They got that call somewhat right. But they ____ed the dog on the personal foul call.

So if first contact is below the neck, you are allowed to rip the helmet off the QB? Look we all know that 10 years ago that would have simply been a good sack. Now days it's a flag. What about the 9er player that hit Sproles on the fair catch? That was weird. How could he have not seen him wave his hands? He didn't try to lay Sproles out but did make contact to tackle him. Maybe the refs should start carrying traffic lights around? Red flag, yellow caution and green you're good to go.

Hawk is just a hater. He knowg ifwe win against Seattle his Seahawks have to win in the Dome come playoff time.

The PF call was legit in today's game. I do t agree with the rule, but it was the right call. The intentional grounding on Brees was right and the one on kapernick was missed but it would not have been a safety. He was on the half yard line when he released the ball.
