Tonight's UL-Western Kentucky basketball contest promises to be a fowl-plagued affair, and it has nothing to do with the guys in the striped shirts.
It has everything to do with that fowlest of beasts, that master of mayhem, the one whose fickle feather of fate often falls on the least suspecting.
After a nine-year absence from his regular nest at the Cajundome, the Fabulous Cajun Chicken returns to his most familiar coop for tonight's 7:05 p.m. Sun Belt Conference contest.
"I've been going through it in my head for weeks, trying to figure out what things I'm going to do," said Russell Heim, whose alter ego began prowling sidelines at UL athletic events 26 years ago. "I don't want to mess with any rules, but I know we're going to have some fun."
