Thread: Lets Geaux Cajuns

  1. UL Baseball

It's been a tough Astros classic, but lets not get too tense, lets put this series behind us in the Learn column.

I really think the problem is that they are thinking too much while at the plate.

Trying to remember everything coach Szefc has taught them-new system-has most struggling at the plate. As soon as they can play on feel rather than thought then the hitting will come around.

    Lets Geaux Cajuns, RELAX

So now I am on record, I think the hitting will come around.

Conversely, while I think the pitching and defense will come around as well, this has me much more worried.

Coach Robe has won literally hundreds of games with the hitters only putting up 1, 2, and 3 run games. What he has not had to contend with is low or nonexistent pitching and defense.

Going back to the 02 regional, the Cajuns have given up 76 points in the last 9 games. That comes to about 8.5 runs per game.

Pitching and defense must get better.

The bright news is, the Cajuns are undefeated this year when scoring at least 5 runs.

So, on Pitching and defense, DON'T RELAX

    I am:

  3. Watching Memphis vs. University of Louisville on TV and
  4. Listening to Louisiana vs. Southeastern on the Internet.

Cajuns are winning 2-0 bottom of the first.

ESPN has "UL" on the score board for Louisville.

Now I know that some think winning will take care of the name problem except Louisville is #3 in the country, and right now UL is being associated with Louisville.

As it now stands the term UL will never be nationally associated with Louisiana. We must focus on using LOUISIANA exclusively.

3 up 3 down two innings in a row for Cajun pitching.
    GEAUX Louisiana.

It is halftime in ESPNs "UL" game.

Bottom half of the 3rd Louisiana is winning 5-0

  14. UL Baseball Cajuns’ Hit Parade

Templet tosses two-hitter as Louisiana pounds SLU, 10-0.

LAFAYETTE — Louisiana's baseball squad had a team meeting following Tuesday night’s shutout loss to Northwestern State.

The subject of the meeting must have been getting better hitting and better pitching, because they got both in a big way Wednesday night.

One night after being blanked by the Demons, the Ragin’ Cajuns took out a week’s worth of frustrations on Southeastern Louisiana with a 15-hit attack.

And, one night after Corey Coles’ seven-hit, 12-strikeout complete-game pitching effort went for naught, Jordy Templet trumped even that with a brilliant two-hit shutout as the Cajuns rolled to a 10-0 victory at Moore Field to snap a six-game losing streak.

“We’ve been waiting for this,” said Coles, who had four hits in the season-high attack and scored three runs in the first four innings. “We decided last night to put everything behind us and start a new season, and decided to have a little fun.”
