This is the best coach interview I've seen from any Cajun coach I can remember. I think he will do a good job. I just hope he gets good play out of his QB.

Why did we hire Simon as a receivers coach? Wasn't he a running backs coach at USM and also a running back in his career?
Not sure, Cajunfan79, but that is some good questions!
"Because where is that extra defender coming in? Is he coming in from the safety position? (If so) then we need to attack that area. Is he coming in from the outside linebacker position? Then we need to attack that area. Wherever that extra defender is showing up (from) is where I want to be able to attack."
Music to my philosophy
George is a class act I am looking forward to seeing his O. Des and Fenroy broke several offensive single game yardage records with him at coordinator. Now he will be faster over all with what appears very good but young talent at QB and receiver to go along the veteran Eli.
My prediction is the Cajuns will put up huge offensive numbers next year.
If he is allowed to do his job he will be awesome! Micromanagement will kill us, otherwise!

John Simon was moved to WR his senior year at Louisiana Tech under Jack Bicknell, playing with Luke McCown. In the pros he was used mostly as an all-purpose athlete and was a very good receiver. So the answer to your questions is he is very well schooled in a vertical passing game in college and played in the pros. And we just got better in recruiting because Simon will be recruiting the New Orleans and the River Parishes for the Cajuns this year.
well, you know Hud will be very very involved. He is an offensive guy, after all. And, he's far from being a dummy in that department.
He knows what he wants out of the offense and has named a guy whose philosophy fits his own.
Frankly, the last thing I want him to do is leave it alone. The two of them have the capability to make a very good team.
