Does anyone miss the skykicks from Bustle where the opposing team would always get the ball around the 35-40? Troy's kickoffs reminded me of that last Thursday

And then he would drive to the 35-40 and punt on 4th and short . Coach Stokley did that as well.

If you are willing to give them the ball on the 40 on kickoffs, why not try and get the first down 50% of the time.

That mentality today would kill Hunter Stover's effectiveness.

Stover is going to destroy someone even if he cant get to the ball carrier. Its also nice that he gets the ball into the endzone or near it everytime.

I kind of like it when a team overlooks assigning a blocker to Hunter. I hope our dedicated thread doesn't hinder that. I focused on Hunter the other night on one KO, and noticed he went untouched to the KO returner. I'm not sure if Troy blew him off or what. But I'd think by now he'd be an assignment all by himself by most special team coaches.

You know who he's kind of like? Brian Mitchell. If you watched Brian, the ultimate all-purpose football player to ever play in the NFL... he used to also cover kickoffs for the Redskins. He'd fly down the field and knock guys flat. For a guy that was deemed an excellent skills player, he loved to hit like a MAC truck.

Normally when the kicker makes the tackle its at the end of a really good kick return. In Stover's case its the oposite. Is there a stat for tackles by the kicker? I would be willing to bet that Stover holds the NCAA all time record.

I love Stover. Sometimes I feel like he purposefully kicks it short of the endzone just so he can light someone up.

-----He told me one time that they were working on the H of F for him but this guy really needs to be in it---maybe the greatest "ALL AROUND PLAYER" ever in the NFL!!!

What an analogy Turb, if you are going to give your opponent the ball on the 40-45 yard line on kick-offs, then why not go for it on 4th and short on their 40-45 yard line........I know some will say, try and pin them on their 2 yard line with a great punt.....

I sit in front of Hunters parents really good people and yes Hunter is a beast fun to watch.
