Thread: HeadHunter Stover

  1. #1

    Default HeadHunter Stover

Nobody has started a Headhunter Stover thread?

I mean this guy is the baddest fricking kicker in all the land. I never saw a kicker the other special teams coach had to account for or he was going to hurt your return man. How have I not seen much chatter about this dude? This guy is a man possessed. I don't find many football players scary, but Hunter Stover makes me scared to watch kickoffs. In a good way of course.

Now doubt the guy's a beast. Here's the thing, you do one for him, you do one for many! There are plenty of beasts on this team who are playing lights out. That is what makes this team so special.

I just love the way he plays the kickoffs. He is the new hybrid kickoff splecialist. A friend of mine and I were laughing that NFL scouts are now going to look at kickers backgrounds to see if they were LB'ers that converted to kickers. lol. Look at Jimmy Graham, Tony Gonzales, etc. that changed the way scouts look at basketball players. He'll revolutionize kickers. lol. You never know.

I agree that this team is so special. I also understand Kyle's point. You expect beast mode out of RB, WR LB, Linemen, etc. You don't expect it out of your kicker. You expect him to kick and stay behind and pray that the return man doesn't make it to him. The most you normally see is him pushing the return man out of bounds, not body slamming him. lol.

He's more of an anomaly. Kicking a ball is hard enough. Lucky for us we have an LB who does it, then runs down the field to destroy the carrier.

I get what BWK is saying. I am just saying there are lots of guys on this team who are playing "lights out." How many threads could be started?

As many as it takes for us to realize Kyle is the reincarnation of every great football coach that ever lived, or as he calls himself Knute Bear Landry.

Was there really anyone on Ragin Pagin, or hell even are there that many in the general Cajun Field population that don't already know about Stover and love the hell out of the fact he does what he does? I mean I've pretty much only been watching him on kickoffs since the first time he lit someone up. I'ts not exactly a secret....even the retard ESPN announcers who can't figure out what to call us even though we have explained it to them 100 times know about Stover.

I get what Kyle is saying. Someone like Stover is an anomaly. My father and I were talking during the NMSU game how it would make for a cool segment special on College Gameday about a kicker who flies down the field looking for contact and putting some nice hits on returners. .

I think we talk about Hunter's awesomeness on a regular basis. Nothing wrong with a dedicated thread. But I wouldn't want to give the false impression that this forum hasn't credited Hunter, enormously, for his unique kick and clobber skills.

Especially on the GameDay threads we wow over Hunter Stover's unique ability.

I agree Hunter Stover deserves his own thread again this year.

"HeadHunter Stover" is brilliant and apropos.

Stover is going to destroy someone even if he cant get to the ball carrier. Its also nice that he gets the ball into the endzone or near it everytime.

Does anyone miss the skykicks from Bustle where the opposing team would always get the ball around the 35-40? Troy's kickoffs reminded me of that last Thursday
