Regarding Elfrid and his comparison to Dwayne, Tiras and Orien, EP was nominated to the John Wooden award watch list, which is the equivalent of the Heisman Trophy for college hoops. I don't necessarily think he is a combination of those three guys, but I think he is defenitely a better player. Absent something crazy happening, he will be our first player drafted since Kevin Brooks. IMO, he is our best player since Michael Allen.
Now, the team with Orien, Brian Hamilton, Tiras, Dwayne, and Cameron would likely beat this team. But, EP and Shwan would give them fits.
Elfrid is the fastest left handed forward I have ever seen!
Orien green was drafted, I think EP is just a better over all player. If he could shoot like tiras wade with the skill set he has... He would be a top 10 pick in the draft. Wade could stroke.
I'm sorry, I completely forgot about Orien getting drafted. I think EP will go slightly higher than OG. But, I agree that Elfrid is the better player.
Please remember EP is still only 19 years old and has just started his junior year. I am very high on him, but to compare him to others of the past while he still has almost two (hopefully) full years left is not fair to him. He is the hardest worker on the court and in the class room.
Jordy was chosen for that broadcast role due to his basektball knowledge, not his ties to our school or his name preferences. Name issues aside, how did he do regarding pure basketball on the broadcast.
One of the reasons Elfrid has become an outstanding player is his ability to get to the rim using either his right or left hand. He had a couple of plays he made look easy last night by going to his left. That is not nearly as easy as it looks. There are thousands of good basketball players who never master the ability to use the off hand.
