Then he needs to be really good at getting position. Rebounding is about position and blocking out which seems to be a lost fundamental. If you are in position, you should either get the ball or get the foul majority of the time.

Payton is pretty dynamic. Reminds me of Trey Burke.

Just got home. Long's stat line was ridiculous but... Elfrid is on a whole other level. This guy is Orien Green and Tiras Wade combined with some Dwayne Mitchell flair. We're seeing something very special gents.

Other than being a little off from the perimeter, letting McNeese get a little hot at the end of the first half, and missing a few too many free throws, I actually thought we played pretty well. Of course it gets a little sloppy at times when you try to push the pace. People who have not played a lot of basketball don't realize how difficult it is to have only 10 turnovers in a game played at the pace we competed at tonight. Still we scored 92 points and you have to do something right to do that. Especially nice was the 2nd half defense. Although he did not score, Rimmer was a key factor as he caused the Eackles kid to get frustrated with his defense. Moore also had a good game with 16 points and 9 rebounds. If we get someone to help out the big two on most nights, we mayl win a few more games this year than people expect. Keep in mind that we just beat the McNeese Cowboys by over 25. When something like that happens, it is a reason to smile.

I can answer that without hearing or knowing what he said.....YES! He is a homegrown LSU boy, with MASSIVE ties to them and always will!

Can we not get someone better than him (or at least favorable to the Cajuns) on our own network?

Thorough analysis, i agree with this.
Rimmer impressed me with his defense

That's a pretty bold claim, I'm gonna have to go see this dude. Haven't been to a game since his freshman year

Tonight was my first game since Elfrid's freshman season as well. Had a new baby last season and couldn't get away from the house much, lost some excitement for the team with all of the defections that went on.

But I can tell you that 'seehard' not exaggerating in the least bit. I was thoroughly impressed with Elfrid, he was making some absolutely sick moves and plays. You have to see this guy in person to truly appreciate his skill set. Go to the next home game, you will not be disappointed. I guarantee it.

I don't know that he's got the outside stroke of Wade; he definitely isn't the explosive athlete/finisher that Mitchell was. But he does a LOT of things VERY well. He's got a very "smooth" game, and he penetrates really well. He's easily the best individual player we've had since the Evans era, and he and Long complement each other very well. If we had more consistent jump shooting from the rest of the team, we'd be a pretty special club; hopefully, that comes as Rimmer, Register, and other guys find their grooves. On the issue of big men, JJ has lost a lot of weight, but he's not done yet. He played alright with his minutes tonight. Vieux Kande, while definitely not an offensive threat, is fun to watch run down the court if nothing else. He's all hustle. In his couple of minutes tonight, Luka Kamber also showed some pop. All in all, we continue to be an up-and-down, yet fun and energetic, team to watch. We might not win 25 games, but there's clear improvement from last year with more still to come.
