After holding its first spring practice on Wednesday, UL's softball team was forced indoors on Thursday. The Ragin' Cajuns avoided most of Thursday's downpour, doing individual drills at the Leon Moncla Indoor Practice Facility along with some weight training.

"Living in southwestern Louisiana there's a chance for rain every day," said Michael Lotief, who shares UL coaching duties with wife Stefni. "We're happy to have this facility."

The Cajuns return 13 letterwinners from last season's team, which went 46-18 and advanced to the NCAA Regional round. Senior Holly Tankersley should lead the offense after earning All-South Region honors last season. She hit .403 with 18 home runs and 61 RBIs - all team-best totals.
