  1. UL Football Darryl Surgent SBC Special Teams Player of the Week

Special Teams Player of the Week

    Darryl Surgent (Louisiana, Sr., RS/WR)

Returned a first quarter punt 67 yards for a touchdown to give the Cajuns a 14-3 lead over Troy.

It was the second punt return touchdown of Surgent's career.

He had 118 all-purpose yards in the game, also returning two kickoffs for 51 yards to set the Louisiana school record for career kickoff return yards with 2,672 (he already has the record for carer kickoff returns with 119).

Surgent is the seventh player in the country this year to have scored a touchdown on both a kickoff and punt return.

Don't forget his clock killing run on 4th down.

hammer ---Joey saw it on TV and although we had never seen that set to take a safety---we both thought that he should not have run out of bounds!!! He could have ended the game and had it not been for the penalty we would have had to kick it to them!! picky but true!!!!

He was probably told not to take a hit, get out of bounds. If he is hit while running around you take the chance of a fumble and then some people would be calling for Hud's head. IMO he did the right thing running out of bounds.

If Terrance throws a block at the guy who pushed Surgent out of bounds, he probably could have sat in the corner until time ran out. I also thought it was silly to have broadway throw it backwards to Surgent.

I had never seen it before but I love it ---If Broadway trips on his way to the end zone----we lose!!!

More likely happening a player running tripping. Or, dropping a pass?

It was a backwards pass, so it would be a lateral, not an incomplete. He could pick it up if dropped.
