Thread: Interesting Stats

    Default Interesting Stats

Last night, the Cajun bench outscored the UNO bench 41-0.

So I looked around the conference. WKU & USA played last night. Both of them had 6 players score.

Last night, UNO had 5 players who scored.

In the same game, UL had 11 players contribute. The only player who didn't?

Gradnigo, the best 3-point shooter on the team.

We are young, and we don't have a true inside man. But we are rebounding and stealing the ball well.

We are going to lose some games this season. But with the depth of our bench, if even some of our players are 'on', we'll be tough to beat.

Gotta love our depth. Lee can put in more than 10 players without much (if any) of a drop. That alone will win several games.... Good times ahead.

Cajunfan, great post. However, I must disagree one little statement you made. Gradnigo, IMO, is the best all-around player on the team but I don't think he's the best 3 point shooter. I would definitely argue that Daigle and Bureau are ahead of him behind the arc but I think he's the best player on the team. Coach Lee has to find a way to make sure that he and Bureau get opportunities.

These types of games will pay dividends in a couple years. Game experience is priceless for young players. These young guys are growing up in the fire.

I understand completely, and to be honest, I'm not even basing my opinion on any statistical data whatsoever. I simply think that when open, Bureau and Daigle are just better pure shooters than Gradnigo and I started noticing this once I heard Lee state it a couple of times during his show. I do think that Gradnigo is the best overall player and can score from various spots on the floor and is effective in half court and transition.

During one stretch of the game on Sat. night the Cajuns went on a little run and the crowd really got into the game.

I told my buddy....look....Dees, Gradnigo, Daigle, and Millsap are ALL on the bench!! (I think it was when Willie drained that long three!!)

Many more good times to come

This team has shown that it can be ANYBODY can step up and contribute in a big way any given night. Saturday was Bloom and Lago and let's not forget the work that Dison did on McAlebb since he didn't score for the final 10 minutes of the game. I think he deserves a lot of credit also. Let's not forget that Bloom and Dison haven't even played the last couple of games due to our talent but they came in when their numbers were called and contributed and I think that is what makes this team so much fun.

Gradnigo can create his own shot while Daigle and Bureau struggle with that to a degree. He will get out of his slump soon and make us smile. Hopefully that happens on Thursday.l

Exactly, that's why I said "when open". I also think that Bureau will get better at creating his own shot as he matures but right now seems to be more of a set shooter. Daigle does a decent job but because of his size, will not really be able to slash a lot and get much inside.
