The New York Mets announced today that they have acquired outfielder Angel Pagan from the Chicago Cubs in exchange for a pair of minor leaguers, outfielder Corey Coles and righthanded pitcher Ryan Meyers.

Coles, 25, played with St. Lucie (A) of the Florida State League, Binghamton (AA) of the Eastern League and New Orleans (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League last season.

In 66 contests with the B-Mets, he batted .296 (81-274) with 36 runs scored, 10 doubles, two triples, one home run, 22 RBI, nine stolen bases with 24 walks and 44 strikeouts.

The 6-1, 170-pounder also played in 23 games with St. Lucie, hitting .286 (24-84) with three doubles and eight RBI.

Coles also hit .200 (6-30) in nine games with the Zephyrs.
