So, if Cajuns finish 10-2 I think the man needs another raise.

Not sure if UL can afford it but they sure need to try!

If it was only that easy!

First we have to pay the travel expenses of all of the other Suckbelt teams that don't sale any tickets to their bowl game.

    Quote from the article:

"Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin, a Republican, has created a task force to move the idea forward. Lawmakers there also held a hearing on the proposal last month and were told by three university economists that repealing or altering the personal income tax, which bankrolls one-third of Oklahoma’s public services, would have to be accompanied by a plan to replace the lost revenues."

The economists are wrong, just ask Jindal.

You don't have to replace the lost revenues, just shut down higher ed...

I don't think it'll matter if we gave Hud a blank check to stay. If he's gonna leave then he's gonna leave, and if he does we should begrudgingly be happy for him and thankful for what he's done to improve the program. Higher profile schools offer more than $$.

Don't be surprised if he gets a new $1.5MM contract for winning SBC and bowl game

Well now you are just being ignorant. I bet you are a destiny guy, what will be will be. Of course I believe you make most of your destiny and the same for coaches. If you act like you do not appreciate a great effort they will SURELY leave.

We surely will offer to up Hud's income, on that you can bet your life if he equals last year. To do less would be an insult to any coach.

    I think you're right unfortunately.

But it would be a huge failure on our part if we didn't offer him well over 1 million. Hud is like an elite NBA player in that every team needs one to excel but there aren't nearly enough of them for every team. He's the type of guy that comes in and instantly makes your team better. And he's the kind of guy where if you lose him there's little chance you'll stumble upon someone as good as him. We can't afford to pay him but we certainly can't afford to lose him either. We may not be able to keep him no matter what we do, but we need to do everything in our power to try.

    This is true.

They pay you to come and they pay you to leave.

They also get on national programs like Tim Brando.

They get you invited to Bristol as a game day analyst on your bye week.

Higher profile schools are often in towns with a good amount of restaurants.

UL is weeks away from funding $126MM in athletic facilities. Paying Hud what he deserves is extremely doable. He's the catalyst behind it all.

Bustle was paid about $100 thousand per win.

    Hudspeth is paid even less.
