FYI: stopped campus this morning.....still nothing going on in the quad except the growing of weeds. Is the admin ever going to let us in on what's happening?
Someone told me the lines and everything under the ground were not where they were supposed to or expected to be. Not sure how true that is, but that's what I got from someone at the university.
I was also to get a quick pic of the new 'Louisiana' wall going up in front of Martin hall. Not much to see, but it looks like the foundation part is almost done. So we should start seeing it rise pretty soon.
UPDATE!
There was a truck parked and two guys walking through the quad today with a big piece of paper. Most action the quad has seen in weeks. Maybe they picked some of those colorful flowers to take home to their ladies?
Are they tearing down the fountain or is that going behind it? Sorry if this had already been asked..
Ok, this is straight from the horses mouth. The job was broken down into phases. The first phase was to do all the underground work. The second phase was to do the concrete base for the bricks. The third phase was to install the bricks with the final phase to do the fountain. This was done to keep each phase of the project to an amount where the State of Louisiana Physical Planning would not be involved. (Excellent). The second phase was just bid and will start fairly soon. They have started to etch the bricks and will be delivered one year at a time.
Bottom line there was no contractor default, the State of Louisiana was not involved and the job is proceeding. All in all not bad, not bad at all.
