A straight shot from over the fence looking towards stephens hall
I sometimes wonder if putting all those names on the bricks is really worth it financially and aesthetically ... some of us old timers like the green space with more native plants and a beautiful view rather than all this ground concrete.
Maybe it would have been better if just people that wanted bricks, paid for them to see their name with less space requirements. I know some who love their name on something while others could care less - a controversial subject at times.
Sorry, as a fellow old-timer I couldn't disagree more: I love the new design, and the alumni bricks. This past fall I made an effort to find and photograph most of the names I recognized. I then sent to people (or posted on FB) and the response was great! People loved seeing 'their' bricks. IMHO, we have outgrown the wide open spaces of yesteryear.
I looked for my brick from '99, didn't find it last time I was there!
Don't agree with the free bricks.
We always hear them berate us for lack of alumni giving?
You want a brick, make a donation.
As a 2008 graduate, my brick was never even placed. I'm looking forward to them finishing so that I can finally see it where it belongs.
