Here is the one I took yesterday morning ... cropped. They had not turned on the lights for the brick wall.

These are a few that I took just a few moments ago. I like the one with the red (vermilion) and white flowers in it, but I wish it would also include Martin Hall.

Okay, one more, lol. Was passing by this morning and was so caught by it I couldn't stop myself from taking a few .... with all the night pics, let's not forget how great it looks during the day, ;-)

And the quad itself is really starting to take shape. I really like the idea of a fountain in the middle. I think I read that the goal is to create an 'oasis,' which I think a fountain surrounded by trees will do the trick.

Well, I remember benches in a circle, and a planter with a tree in the middle. Don't remember a pool and otherwise it wasn't anything too special. But boy, I also remember the pretty sizable protest before the first big reno in the early 90's: a lot of alumni liked the open spaces, and the memories of playing mud football games there after rainstorms, lol

Wow this is taking a long time to finish.

This was done to keep each phase of the project to an amount where the State of Louisiana Physical Planning would not be involved. (Excellent). The second phase was just bid and will start fairly soon. They have started to etch the bricks and will be delivered one year at a time.

Bottom line there was no contractor default, the State of Louisiana was not involved and the job is proceeding. All in all not bad, not bad at all.
This explains the long time line
