I don't see what's there to compromise over.

They've chosen their brand - ULM

We've chosen ours - LOUISIANA

Anything else is no compromise.

Which is why I think the SBC is meddling.

Even after their "do as you wish" statement to ESPN, they implied they would continue to evaluate their stance.

If this is true it's good to hear. I know some of you think compromise is a dirty word, but if T-Joe can somehow find a way to get ULM to support our use of UL or Louisiana it would be a gigantic coup for us. If this doesn't happen we'll fight this battle forever.

I never thought I'd have the disdain I once had toward another community as I did once for Lake Charles. Well, ___ Monore. They deserve to be taken over by LSU or even LTUR. Maybe TJ is explaining how in these budgetary times, there's a lot of duplication at a medical school and a pharmacy school. Maybe the state needs to move the pharmacy school to LSUS...I'm for it now.

I have a great idea... Lets follow WKU and previous SBC schools to CUSA!! In a new conference we dont have to worry about monroe anymore!! The SBC is like a stock, when the big investors or a high volume of investors sell... You follow suit!! They obviously know something.... The sunbelt is turning into the "New FCS Conference" MTSU, NT, FIU/FAU were smart enough to take the offer to leave the SBC. WKU is leaving next yr.... Even though i dont think CUSA is a great conference, i think we need to make moves before we get stuck here. CUSA is set to add old dominion ad Charlotte next yr... You dont think we could have been a better addition? After WKU leaves the only big players will be UL and ARK st. I guess u can throw monroe in there, but with budget cuts and the big money games on the future schedules, i dont think they will sustain D-1 status for another 5+ yrs. They would fit in the southland conference very well. Mcneese, NSULA, SLU, monroe, lamar.

In CUSA i think it will be a great old rival with tech. U will not have to worry about the name issue anymore. LA Tech is LA Tech and Louisiana is Louisiana.... Monroe will still be in SBC, Which will prob fold eventually,Then monroe drops to FCS with mcneese. In CUSA the games will be against better competition... SBC is heading towards a slow death with these new additions. We need to make moves soon... "Walk before you run" - CUSA (or a similar conference) before you get a big conference invite

Why compromise, What rule or law says that out athletic team can't be called Louisiana or Louisiana Ragin Cajuns? And demand it from all sport broadcasters. And have the score board read, "Louisiana and ULM" period.

While I agree with everything you are saying about the Sunbelt, don't think that La Tech would not do everything possible to keep us from using Louisiana or UL too.
