News flash: UL quarterback Mike Desormeaux took the snap and went through his pass progressions before throwing downfield to an open receiver early in Thursday's practice.
OK, so the senior was mimicking that play on his own about 10 yards behind the first team offense.
But Desormeaux has yet to be ruled out for Saturday's game against Arkansas State. The New Iberia native remains questionable this weekend with a sprained right knee suffered in the fourth quarter of last week's 59-30 win over North Texas.

The words of encouragement went a long way for UL's Jason Chery.
In practice two days before last Saturday's game at North Texas, Chery was struggling. The thrill of his career game the previous week against ULM, which included 318 all-purpose yards, two touchdowns and Sun Belt special teams player of the week honors, had worn off.
"I was dropping every ball," Chery said. "I couldn't catch a ball. I lost focus. But everybody was there to pick me up."
Chery returned the favor in last week's 59-30 win over UNT as the Cajuns set the program's modern-day scoring mark.

JONESBORO — Ben Owens expects to have his hands full Saturday.
Arkansas State’s senior middle linebacker from Bearden heads up the Sun Belt Conference’s top rushing defense, which is sure to be tested against Louisiana-Lafayette and the nation’s top rushing offense this week.
The Ragin’ Cajuns are averaging a national-best 332. 2 yards per game, while the Red Wolves are giving up a Sun Belt-best 126. 8. Louisiana-Lafayette also leads the Sun Belt in scoring, averaging 37. 0 points per game, and total offense, with an average of 529. 2 yards per game.
Owens has noticed.

I haven't seen Desormeaux take a snap all week. He has been wearing the black jersey, except yesterday which was a simple shorts and jersey walkthrough.
