OK, I guess we have no shot! What will we do, what WILL we do??? I know, you're not saying he can't get it done, just that he's "unproven". That is true. But at least he's had some playing time on the field. I think, based on what I've heard, that he will do fine. He is not Dez, but he is Brad. I think he'll have a great coming-out party on Sat. night! (At least I really hope so!)

Z, what time are you guys pulling up stakes to go into the stadium? I will be coming in from Clinton, LA after working from 7am to about 2:30pm. Not sure what time I'll make it in to Cajun Field, but probably no earlier than 4:00.

Is that the time you're leaving the Eauxk to go inside the stadium, or leaving home to get to the Eauxk??? BTW, will there be any cold adult beverages available? (Like I have to ask ...) LOL

If you are running behind schedule stop by the Krewe de Chew site. We pull up stakes at 5:30 p.m., but we will have someone "baby sitting" the site. I'll tell them to be on the lookout for you...yes beverages will be available along with menu food.

  10. UL Football Desormeaux dresses for practice

News flash: UL quarterback Mike Desormeaux took the snap and went through his pass progressions before throwing downfield to an open receiver early in Thursday's practice.

OK, so the senior was mimicking that play on his own about 10 yards behind the first team offense.

But Desormeaux has yet to be ruled out for Saturday's game against Arkansas State. The New Iberia native remains questionable this weekend with a sprained right knee suffered in the fourth quarter of last week's 59-30 win over North Texas.

  11. UL Football TDs come with a Chery on top

The words of encouragement went a long way for UL's Jason Chery.

In practice two days before last Saturday's game at North Texas, Chery was struggling. The thrill of his career game the previous week against ULM, which included 318 all-purpose yards, two touchdowns and Sun Belt special teams player of the week honors, had worn off.

"I was dropping every ball," Chery said. "I couldn't catch a ball. I lost focus. But everybody was there to pick me up."

Chery returned the favor in last week's 59-30 win over UNT as the Cajuns set the program's modern-day scoring mark.

  12. UL Football Opponent View: Wolves gearing up for Cajuns’ offense

JONESBORO — Ben Owens expects to have his hands full Saturday.

Arkansas State’s senior middle linebacker from Bearden heads up the Sun Belt Conference’s top rushing defense, which is sure to be tested against Louisiana-Lafayette and the nation’s top rushing offense this week.

The Ragin’ Cajuns are averaging a national-best 332. 2 yards per game, while the Red Wolves are giving up a Sun Belt-best 126. 8. Louisiana-Lafayette also leads the Sun Belt in scoring, averaging 37. 0 points per game, and total offense, with an average of 529. 2 yards per game.

    Owens has noticed.
