You say thank you Mitchell and we say thank you Favre. To each school these two players define the programs. The main difference is your administration and community stepped up to the plate and did everything that it takes in order to succeed in football at the mid major level. While our administration did everything in their power to keep us from becoming a sports school.

Pretty obvious, huh? Hell, just cancel the season based on the preseason predicitons. That's why I showed the So Miss fan the final conference Sagarain rankings from 2007 that factually prove the SBC was not "the "worst" in the nation.

Sweet J, I'm thinking these eagles hatched out yesterday.

We could be really good and Coach could have done a fantastic job and we could still miss a bowl. Skat happens. Look at Troy last season. They just got left out.

No, what I am saying if you know nothing about the subject you should just pass, rather than making yourself look stupid. Of course you could always explain how USF build CUSA and make me look stupid....

North Texas.....you are kidding me right? Sure they owned the SBC but what did they do for the SBC nationally? Did they finish ranked in ANY poll? They won 1 New Orleans Bowl, against Cincy in thier CoChampionship year, you know the Cincy team you claim build CUSA.

But your last statement is really pretty far out there. We are slightly better than you? We are both mid level mid majors??? Well lets see....

No, I'm like Fun and his fair weather fans, I don't want to see us in the BCS. I'd prefer the whole system be reformed somehow to make it into what it should be. Of course, you would then have to pinch me and wake me out of that dream becasue that's what it would be." _
Yes, it do. You only have to ask Tulane, Fla. St, Miami, Fresno St, So. Fla, UConn and on and on. I know that list is a mixed bad of BCS and non-BCS, but they all found some gold in their football programs which was not there at one time.

“…designed to exclude some and allow others to hoard all the gold.”

Look, the BCS is not perfect, but it has been very, very good to the team I support. So not surprisingly, I will cut it more slack than you. I will say that without the BCS we don't get some of the games which have taken place lately. Such as USC and Texas and others. So, it can't be all bad, can it? And before the BCS, was there a system in place which allowed the “gold” to be shared?

Rather than fair weather fans, I prefer to call them fans seeking entertainment value for their dollar. They are fans who have expectations when they open their wallet or take time out of their life to attend anything and that includes sports events. When those expectations are not fulfilled, they chose to find another way to be entertained.
It’s that way in all avenues of life and really it shouldn’t be that hard to understand or accept. Imo

And good luck in filtering out the good from the bad when you become more successful and Cajun football has them hanging from the nose bleed seats. Seems that would be bout as possible as allowing into our lungs only the particles we want when we breathe. A noble mission and no harm in trying, but............

Have a safe trip and bring home some roasted bird.

Well thats odd. Because in the link provided in this thread, it clearly shows a 18 ACT is mandatory at LSU. And I know for a fact, a 21 ACT is not required at MS State.

Everytime I hear this story from LSU/SEC fans and I ask for link, the answer is always the same...silence.

Now I take SMQ as a pretty credible source and if he is wrong I want to know about it. So if anyone has a link proving him wrong, please post it.

You come to our board and post rediculous opinions about how great CUSA is and how spectacular USM is but the fact of the matter is that your CUSA mates have passed you guys up. Tulsa, UCF, Houston, Memphis, and ECU all have more name recognition and pespect than USM. Face it you guys are a respectable mid major, you are not world beater or anything close. Southern Mississippi must have some good mushrooms. Are we at the level of USM, no. But we are a lot closer than any of your fans are willing to admit.

Look, the kid signed with So. Miss, is going to play, and that's all that really counts. Congrats to him, his family, and to So Miss. I hope he has a great career and leads you guys to many victories. Just not this week...ok?

It's pretty funny to see how chippy things are getting now that we are getting close to game time. Come Friday we'll all hate each other!

Southern Miss has much greater football tradition than UL. I think everyone knows that. I feel like this Saturday may be a good game. Vegas agrees, as the line has moved from +14 to +10.5 last I saw. (I know, I know, they move the line in response to action, not according to what the teams will do, but still!)

    Let's just see who wins.

THEN we can start ripping into each other again how the other team is "classless" or something. Bad calls, biased refs, etc... next week will be even funner!

I'm just hoping Gustav decides to leave us all alone!

I wish Bustle was a little more positive and inspiring. We as fans need to hear that. I want to see this team come out with an attitude like they did vs. UH a couple of years ago. For some reason, we lost our swagger after that game when we lost HC to MTSU. We need to regain it vs. USM. It seems to me that the attitude of the coach(s) will help dictate that.
Don't be so hard on Bustle.

When you see the ultoday.com article Friday, you'll get some insight into his comments...

...and I think you'll LIKE it.
