Sorry man, I look at the personnel on this football team and I do not see much if any improvement. In fact, I think the defense is going to be worse than last year. We are way too small. The best thing about this being Bustle's last year is the fact that Wingerter, the worlds worst recruiting coordinator, will be shown the door with him.
It's the time of the season to be optimistic. I'm anxious to see how this team performs. We always seem to play opposite of the expectation, which is lower this year.
8-4
Geaux UL!
The second day of fall camp for Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns came and went on Tuesday afternoon under cool but humid conditions. The Cajuns worked 10 periods in two hours in shorts for the second straight day.
The team returns at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday for their third practice of camp and first in shoulder pads.
The Cajuns veteran players picked-up their game on Tuesday.
“We have a lot of offense in already and I’m very happy about that,” offensive coordinator Ron Hudson said. “Our older guys have a good understanding of what we’re doing. We are doing a lot of movement and a lot of different things and they’re handling it well.
“The young guys got lost a little bit today. Their eyes were big and things were mixed up.”
As the veteran players continue to show their knowledge of the play book, the younger players need to lean more heavily on the upper classmen for assistance.
“The veteran guys have been in the fight and they understand what it takes,” Hudson stated. “Those guys have good character and are willing to help somebody out. They are reaching out to each other, encouraging each other and those are the things that make coaches excited.”
Although the coaching staff is not allowed to watch nor inquire about summer workouts, Coach Hudson stated that the first two days of camp showed what the summer was all about.
“I know a lot of guys worked hard this summer because they’ve come to camp in great shape,” Hudson explained.
“The players have made a commitment to each other. The camaraderie and the team enthusiasm are like nothing I’ve seen in a long while. They care about each other and are accountable to one another.”
Louisiana will practice all week at 3:30 p.m. with a scrimmage slated for Saturday. A time has not been announced yet for the scrimmage.
I overestimate wins every year, so I am going to shave a win off my original prediction.
5-7.
As Zephyr said this record will put the administration in a tough spot.
heart says 7-5 brain says 3-9
8-4(UL vs Houston )in New Orleans Bowl
I went the practice today.... and took a few pictures
I find I'm able to keep a much more optimistic view if I don't read the heights and weights of our defensive players.
The team will rally around Des and Fenroy during their last year, and play above themselves to a 6-6 record.
Bustle will remain in limbo, and the grumbling gets louder.
