Do you guys still fire that cannon? I remember when I was little, I had to cover my ears the whole game because I hated that noise.

Did the UL QB Club meet today or was today the Media Day? Can someone report on what was said?

Sickening. The belt dominated your conference last year and I just hope it continues. And congrats on Jefcoat. We are loving LIVAS. We ended up with a better qb anyway. Even if he is here only one year.;} Is Jeffcoat starting for you guys? Not a slam, just curious if he was your starter. And giving you more opportunity to talk about you you you and all your youness. _

This USM fan has been here to enjoy discussions with Cajun fans. We play them this Saturday. I have a reason for being here. Outside of making a jackass out of yourself, what is your reason for being here?

First QB Club meeting of 2008 was today. Cach Bustle spoke about the leadership of guys like Des and Fenroy. He then covered the depth chart. I don't think there were any surprises other than maybe hi smention that Yobes Wlaker while starting off strong had "hit a wall" this past week and did not have a good week of practice. But Coach also said that he is not surprised as that happens to freshmen. When asked about improving field position with better kickoffs he stated that Drew Edmonston had really waorked hard with a kicking specialists this summer and was much improved. He stated that Drew was not putting them in the endzone but was getting good hangtime and dropping them inside the 10. Coach Forquier then spoke about the defense and said he felt the nutrition supplement program (funded by donors) paid off as the guys have put on muscle and maintained their weight throughout the summer and fall. And Coach stated he felt he had more talent to be able to put more pressure on the oppossing QBs. He also spoke about the addition of Coach Broussard and Coach Munoz and the shuffling of the defensive coaches responsibilities.

That is about all that I can recall. I was surprised that the coaches never mentioned how much they appreciated the non-support from the "I won't give a dime to the program" fans but then I might have missed that.

Maybe Mike or someone else that was there can fill in any gaps.

The allotted tickets for the Southern Miss game on August 30 have been sold out at the CAJUNDOME Ticket Office. You can still get your tickets for the game by contacting the Southern Miss Ticket Office. UL fans should request to sit in the visitor section when calling.

The phone numbers to reach the Southern Miss Ticket Office are:

    (601) 266-5418, or

    (800) 844-8425 _
Does anyone know if ragincajuns.com is going to broadcast the game? I would rather give my 15.00 bucks to UL than USM.

  9. Default hotel please

Got the tickets now what hotel--that we can walk to the game from--and where to tailgate??????

Default USM Coach Fedora comments on UL...

at his first news conference today....

On Louisiana-Lafayette: "I know that they are going to have some guys that can run around. The strength of their team is probably going to defensively be their linebackers and offensively be their quarterback and their running back. When you talk about them offensively, you first talk about their quarterback as he can really run. They were No. 4 in the country last year in rushing. Their running back has a chance to break all of their rushing records there at Lafayette, he is probably 5-9, 190 lb., that has really good speed and they get the ball to him. Between him and the quarterback, they are the keys to their offense, and they do a lot of really good things with their quarterback. Defensively like I said, linebackers are their strength, they lost a lot of their D-lineman and some of their secondary guys you know one thing they are going to be able to do is run. I believe their kicker and their punter are both back."

Several cajun fans plan on tailgating at a lot near the Hillcrest Dorm. It is about 3-4 blocks aways from the stadium. That is where USM is directing all UL tailgating. It is near the corner of Hwy 49 and 4th Street. Hope this helps.
