UL- -The National Soccer Coaches Association of America announced their 2006-07 Team Academic Awards and Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns women’s soccer team was one of the team honored.

A total of 411 soccer teams (113 men, 298 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2006-07 academic year.

The Ragin’ Cajuns soccer team boasted a 3.37 cumulative team GPA to earn the honor.

Since head coach Scot Wieland has been at UL the soccer team has been in the top-3 in GPA among all Cajuns sports teams every semester, earning the top GPA twice.

Fifteen members of the soccer team earned Sun Belt Conference Commissioner’s list for maintaining a 3.5 to a 4.0 grade point average, while six others were named to the conference Honor Roll for having a 3.0-3.49.

The Cajuns soccer team has had 97 All-Conference Academic Honorees all time.
