How can we ever get to just UL or Louisiana when organizations at UL advertise ULLafayette?

Just to think that in 71 I was Homecoming Chairman and revamp all the festivities back then. Bringing the parade down Rex across St. Mary's and down the Blvd ending up at the Keg. I've been to a few parades from 02 thru 08, still can't get use to going up Johnston, to me makes more sense going thru campus.

Its legal reasons... try reading before posting. They can officially say, "Louisiana" but "University of Louisiana" has to be followed by Lafayette.

Only the university has the legal obligation. You and I and any business can call it anything it wants to. We can say THE University of Louisiana and WE haven't violated anything. Maybe these businesses don't know that.

My whole point was UL Lafayette which I believe was not to be used by anyone. Yes, understand what the University has to use and this one is not correct.

Use of, 'UL Lafayette' is the source of all the confusion.

Well if those are the shirts they have then they are not misleading people who might come in.

The @ Lafayette seems to be something many people are willing to buy, if not they would quit producing it. Now to some of us it is an absolute dead item. The new reality is that Louisiana, and Ragin'Cajuns will be the dominant apparel, but there will always be some degree of @ Lafayette as long as that is the official name.
