Thread: 'Louisiana' nickname has fan support, and The Advertiser support

  1. Default Re: Was this necessary from our "local" newspaper?

Being confused with Louisville is a natural spell check problem.

At no time did any article or piece of material emanating from the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Athletic Department contribute to this confusion.

Being confused with Lafayette is 100% on Martin Hall.

I don't have a problem with the Advertiser pointing out what happened, all the trolls would LOVE to be on an 8 game winning streak, hovering outside the top-30 and be accidently included.

This poll points out in clear fashion the things we have been warning about for years.

No, but then neither was the "editorial" on the name by Decker. But it's The Advertiser, so this is nothing new.

So funny to see the Waaaaaaaaaahoax try to convince us to "be proud" and "embrace" the "legal name". They foolishly think we are going to fall for that friendly advice like they fell for the friendly advice from the techsters and were turned into tech sock puppets.

To me, by giving attention to this, all they did was bring in the Moanroe trolls, as evidenced by the comments.

It is important to document and bring attention to these mistakes that result from not following simple instructions from the athletic department. I really don't give a ---- what trolls say or do.

Love the comment from someone who is actually attending LSU-S...lol.

A school (ULM) that shouldn't exist (legally) is concerned with what another school should legally call itself.

    Now that is rich.

This is proof that winning alone, will not fix the name issue.

Ragin' Cajuns Re: Was this necessary from our "local" newspaper?

It is odd how much interest LSU and others apparently have in what we brand our university in sports here in Lafayette (Louisiana Ragin Cajuns), especially when LSU's actual name is Louisiana Agriculture & Mechanical College in Baton Rouge. I have no issue with Tiger fans branding their own team athletically as the LSU Fighting Tigers, but I find it amusing that so many are concerned about the use of Louisiana in ours. These La. A&M fans don't want to be called Louisiana, but they don't want anyone else to use it either. Sorry, but you can't have it both ways. Here's a suggestion--why don't you and the rest of the universities in Louisiana worry about your own sports programs and just leave us the "L" alone!
