2009? Seriously? Where are the architectural drawings for this? I mean if this is really going to happen, shouldn't there be some evidence of it?

Wouldn't the architects have the designs on their website as a "look what we can do"?

And even so, you know it won't get done in 2009. See how long it took to get the IPF built? And we are still waiting on that fancy billboard on the corner of Congress and Bertrand that, like the rug in the Big Lebowski, will "really bring the room together."

Wouldn't the university tout this? I mean they build so much as a new toilet for Mike (whatever the roman numeral) and there's a three dimensional view on State's website.

Or are we just USL'ing ourselves again?

Don't get me wrong, I'm an optimist, but let's be realistic.

Is there an echo in here? If this is really happening, and on the timeline being touted; then it should be promoted big time. Shouldn't be "I've got a secret, and you're going to love it when you find out!" But it will be sweet when it comes.

Fwiw, we (Tech) had field turf installed two years ago. My opinion is not favorable because when the lights hit it the field looks silver. From the endzones it looks good under the lights (for some reason). Some folks have said it has to do with the size of the blades in our turf and the angle of the lights. I have been on it and would agree that it is probably better for the athletes.

I have also heard thru the grapevine that ours will be replaced under warranty because some of the blades are splitting. Hopefully it will be replaced with the finer blade they are using these days.

After the turf and the "new luxury boxes" for "2009", let's make The Swamp a horseshoe.

Did anybody think of just calling Gerald to confirm this? I don't know him personally, but I know some of you do. Call him.

I called Gerald and he said that he wasn't sure at first, but he got it all confirmed on RaginPagin. That is where he goes to find out "the facts" on UL Athletics. He told me that he knew nothing about the luxury boxes, but eagerly awaits the informant on "the Pagin" for providing more details... .... ...... just kidding of course... ..... ... I hope.

One other thing... Gerald won't tell you if he knows you personally. He likes telling secrets to strangers. Give him a call. 90% of all rumors come true... so make sure you get a good one before you post it on here.

I'm not quite sure what to make of your post. Does this mean no new turf, no luxury boxes????????

    What's the deal?

Even if these are all plans that are in the works, why not go to the Advertiser and let them print something about it. Maybe it would get the community excited to see that at least we have plans for the future.

Track & Field Re: New Turf on Cajun Field

    Hey guys,

It was just a false alarm, none of this is really going to happen, my apologies.

This was a test of the emergency booster service, had this been an actual "program on track" situation, you would have been directed to the appropriate source and received factual information about a program on the rise, this was just a test, I repeat, this was just a test.

Have no fear, you don't have to endure the pressure of supporting a team that is on the rise with an athletic department and administration that are doing the right things to make it all happen. All is well, there is nothing more to see here, everyone can return to their comfort zone...

PS: Everything I said about the upgrades and projects is true.

That's great if it is true.

If it is true, then why did I have to hear about it here first?

Oh, and by the way, I do give my money, time and love to this University, but I am sick of all the BS.

Either give us names of people with the University who can confirm or don't bother, and don't get ____ed when we question the validity of what you are saying. We have over 30 years of BS to give us that right.
