I have followed this thread from the begining and have to say I would feel much better about this if somebody from the University or Athletic Department would make an announcement. So far all we have is rumor on an internet message board. I am skeptical about all of this because I read things here and in other places about things that are going to happen but never do. (Billboard or some other signage at the corner of Congress and Bertrand comes to mind).
If this is indeed true then I would hope that some mechanism of funding would be set up to MAINTAIN what is put into place. The State has money to build but very little to maintain. All you have to do is walk the campus to see that.
You can call me cynical because I will believe all of this when I see it.
Smart move Helmut.
Example: It was 5 years ago that Ragoo said he saw plans for a 3 story athletic complex. LINK
Geaux Cajuns
They had a plan in place to enlarge the current weightroom by 70%, and have elected to immediately upgrade all of the equipment, and rather than just expand the weightroom, build an entirely new complex. I am waiting for you guys to ask me to pass the Koolaid or volunteer to have some of "whatever that guy is drinking", but sometime's truth is stranger than fiction...
This is where I draw the line, I dare not even consider mentioning the new _t_l_t_c _e_r _o_t_a_t, that will be an incredibly serious upgrade.
Ouch, those rocks hurt, stop it, no more, UNCLE!
Nike?
Under Armour?
Russell?
You'll have to excuse our skepticism. All of us would love to have those things in place. And we know many of those plans have been around for awhile. We have seen the architect's drawing that Gerald has. We've just been burned so many times in the past getting our hopes up for a change inthis administration's attitude towards fully implementing people's plans and ideas. That's why we all have this cautious "show me" attitude. But if you are correct and these things begin to take concrete shape in the near future I will be glad to eat a double helping of crow.
