Same reason you don't release information in a forest where a tree may or may not fall.

Google picks up the fallen trees of RP

I understand your point Turbine, and I love this sight because it is where I get the most info on the Cajuns, but all they would have to do is say, "This isn't 100% sure, but this is what we are hoping to do.....", or something to that nature.

Marketing, marketing, marketing. One of our biggest problems.

Here's the deal, first off, I am closer to a 30 day fan than a 30 year fan, so I certainly defer to your well earned durabilty on all things Cajun...

What you might consider? If I were pulling the trigger on facelifts and changes, and the fans had been let down in the past by "promises of grandeur", I might just "build it because they will come" and conduct my marketing at groundbreaking. I would not want to allow the typical bureaucratic delays associated with such projects, to rain on my parade.

In short, I bet you guys will be proud of all of this when it is built, no need to frustrate anyone if scheduling/plans change a bit due to unforeseen circumstances...

But rest assured, change is a comin...

And I think many of us can appreciate that; especially WRT really big projects which the press box/suites would be. But if work is to begin very soon on the field turf (Jan/Feb 08); then you'd think it would be close enough to promote.

I think that they may be trying to put a little separation between the disappointment of this season, and pumping people up for next season. Right now UL football sucks, but in a few months I will be thinking " I can't wait for the season to begin, I miss the game day experience (sans loss)". But then again I don't think anyone in the athletic department has that kind of foresight, so they are probably just not doing a good job marketing (as usual).

Perhaps. At least there has been some speculation through recruits regarding the field turf; just have not seen anything "formal". Schools tell recruits what they feel needs to be said; and if the promise of field turf helps; then go for it. This thread was the first time I'd seen anything mentioning a time frame. Looking forward to it should it come to fruition soon.

Turbine, if we are getting a new turf, and they put "flaming vegetables" or "lafayettes" all over it, doesn't the administration know that people with less scruples than you or I will burn the darn thing?
