Guys, we shared the after expense portion of our NO Bowl revenue with the rest of the SBC per the rule they did last year. We would do the same at other bowls. At other bowls, we'd probably only cover our school expenses anyway. So, the rest of the SBC wouldn't get a dime. Therefore, as long as we're in the SBC, the concept of money making and bowls is really not an issue with us. It is getting an invite. And there are many bowls that suck for us, overall, a lot more than the NO Bowl... all things considered. You will know when the elusive "prestigious bowl invite" is looming. We will be undefeated and ranked in the top 25 at the completion of the season.

That said... we aren't going to any other bowl this year. We are going to the NO Bowl.

Short of going to a BCS bowl, which ain't happening, why would we want to go to any other bowl? No other bowl is two hours down the road, will offer the chance for 40,000 plus fans to go, will allow the Cajuns to play a team they can beat on ESPN, be effectively a home game, is great for in-state recruiting, will be a very tough place for our competition to prevail, offers a festive environment for all...
Ummm.. I don't know any down side .
I'd love for the boys to play Florida State in the Fiesta bowl, but we won't ever get there playing GA State.

I agree, two hours travel, great place to party all in a central area, INDOORS in December and most of all 7pm on a Saturday night. Thats perfection every time

The 7 pm kickoff is a game changer. Not that I didn't have fun last year, but it's tough to get too rowdy for a game that kicks off before noon.

Oh, this will sell another 5k tickets alone.....NOLA is a NIGHT town. Cajuns love the night, the song is Louisiana Saturday Night, not Louisiana Saturday NOON. LOL

The first NO Bowl was a night game. It was much more exciting to have it in the evening. But... I was one wore out SOB at the end of that game. I couldn't even gas back up and party.

We better ditch that "Beach Boys" like entertainment situation at the Dome last year. The first year, we had a 80s, 90s ish top 40 rockish cover group that at least made it festive all around Champions Square. We have got to make sure we kick butt with our alumni and a good band out there this time around. I'd rather a really good cover band that can play Zydeco, R&B, and some swamp pop... and have some stomping around fun. It's "our bowl" anyway.

Just to let y'all know, our bowl revenue is only shared with SBC teams that actually MAKE a bowl game. We had 4+ go last year hence why we didn't make a profit.

Simple answer, pray that we only go. Or pray that us and another team that travels well goes
